I will have prayers for guidance because there is no man who is of so little faith that, in a moment of great disaster, or heartbreak, or misery beyond his comprehension has not called out to his God?
My life need not be filled with religion in order to recognise this greatest mystery of nature – all creatures that walk the earth possess the instinct to cry out for help. And aren’t these cries also a form of prayer? What superior power would not have the ability to answer our cries, having first given us as well as every creature in nature, be it a mule or a lamb or a bird the instinct to cry out for help?
